-A quick interview with an girls Garena HoN team.
PMS Asterisk, a former all-girls DotA team has made the jump to Heroes of Newerth.
Country: Singapore
PMS Asterisk talks about the new DotA based game title from Garena – Heroes of Newerth.
When did you first discover Heroes of Newerth (HoN)?To be able to play with these girls, register at Garena HoN now.
We discovered it in August 2009.
How long have you guys been playing HoN?
We play it on and off… mostly recreational, to see how the game is like.
What do you think about the game?
It’s almost exactly like DotA, but with different graphics.
What are the Pros and Cons you see in HoN compared to a certain popular title known as DotA?
From a business perspective, HoN has S2 backing them up, so there can be official tournaments with good prize money and exposure. DotA was created by the community and the reason why there are so many competitions for it still is because the community loves it.
Any chance that you would think, in time, HoN can become as popular or even overtake DotA?
It really depends on how HoN is managed – if there is a lot of exposure, good prize money and many competitions, there is a possibility that it will gain a big following. As far as we know, it is very well received in the US and EU. The reconnecting system is great as well – no more games spoilt because of a teammate kicking his modem and resulting in being dropped off.
Will you guys be starting your own HoN squad?
There is always a possibility.
With many similar games being released, how do you feel about the DotA scene now?
The DotA scene is definitely not dead with competitions that have really big prize money up for grabs, like the Razer Global Challenge, ESWC, SMM, etc. Its like an old pillow… not the top of the range, but well used and well loved because the community and creators care for it.
What is your favourite aspect of HoN?
It’s got to be the reconnecting function to the game.
Who’s your favourite hero in HoN?
Valkyrie!
